Digital Badges at WCC
WCC uses Credly to issue digital badges after you’ve completed a Fast-Track Training Program and Professional Development Course.
What are digital badges?
A digital badge is a credential that shows the specific skills and abilities you've learned. Digital badges help connect what you learn in training to the jobs you want. They highlight the exact career skills and experience you have. Digital badges are verifiable and trusted by industry experts.
Why are digital badges becoming popular?
According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the majority of employers are looking for specific skill sets and credentials – more than GPAs and degrees when they hire.
A study by Coursera showed that Employers are 72% more likely to hire a candidate who has a professional certificate.
How do digital badges help your career?
Hiring managers often have to skim resumes very quickly when looking at a large pool of job applicants. Candidates can always share their skills traditionally via text on a resume. Digital badges, in contrast, are an easy-to-skim, searchable way to stand out from the crowd to current and prospective employers.
Employers like digital badges because they can:
- See your skill set clearly: They understand your experience and certification.
- Trust your achievements: Digital badges show that your skills are verified.
- Find the right people: They can easily see how your skills match the job requirements.
- Know you're serious about your field: It represents your invested time in learning and growing.
